FilBalad.com is a great product and they have a passionate community of users that contributed throughout the site – but their sales process at the time was hindered by sales people new to the Online Advertising industry, who didnt have an overview of the landscape, and who had to deal with advertisers who barely understood the realm of online. Sure they had a great product – but their were integral pillers missing in order for them to have a great business. But the company was probably one of the best things to ever happen to me. They gave me the team, and a practically open hand to implement an Online Advertising System that was intended not only to provide a consistent stream of leads to their sales team, but to also begin serving text ads (branded iWords) and small banner ads (stickers) throughout the site using inventory that was already unsold. This was the project that convinced me that Online Product Design was where I wanted to be.
